Welcome aboard the USS Atlantis!

"In a part of space where there are few rules, it's more important than ever that we hold fast to our own. In a region where shifting allegiances are commonplace, we have something stable to rely on. And we do: The principles and ideals of the Federation. As far as I'm concerned, those are the best allies we could have." -Captain Kathryn Janeway

Star_Trek_Atlantis_Sovereign_Patch_ver._2.pngAtlantis: The legendary lost city described by the Greek philosopher Plato as a vast imperial city-state plunged into the ocean's depths as divine punishment for failing to conquer Athens.

The story of Atlantis has long captured humanity's interests in exploring the unknown depths of Earth's oceans- a spirit of exploration that would later transition from the oceans to the Final Frontier. The Atlantis name would be used throughout the centuries in the spirit of exploration- from a humble sailboat to one of the United Federation of Planets' most advanced Sovereign-class heavy cruisers.

Launched in the year 2381 to celebrate the Quadricentennial of Earth's Space Shuttle Program, the mission of the USS Atlantis NCC-85103 is the same as that of the 43.5 meter sailboat to which she traces her lineage: Exploration of the great unknown.

She is commanded by Captain Perrine Clostermann - a Dominion War veteran and seasoned officer in her own right. From the "Sons of Shinzon" hostage crisis to the historic Bajoran-Hebitian summit, Captain Clostermann has seen it all. The Atlantis is assigned to Starfleet's 88th fleet, known commonly as "Junior Fleet"

As the Atlantis is a Sovereign-class ship, and best suited for diplomatic and show of force missions, the Atlantis is assigned wherever Starfleet needs it to go. One week, she could be along the Romulan Neutral Zone putting pressure on the Star Empire, the next, she could be on the other side of the quadrant dealing with Tholians or profit-obsessed Ferengi.

Welcome to the voyages of the USS Atlantis. It's continuing mission: To explore strange, new worlds. To seek out new life and new civilizations. To boldly go where no one has gone before.

Happy 60th, Star Trek!

September 8, 1966. Two days after airing in Canada, a new television show airs in the United States. Nobody back then could have predicted that 60 years later, it was still being watched, loved, and would spark the beginning of a franchise that would become legendary.

All those years ago, a man named Gene Roddenberry had a vision of the future: A future where Humanity has set aside its petty differences and taken to the stars as an enlightened people. A future where we built beautiful starships and explored the galaxy together, meeting extraterrestrials and folding…

The Sovereign-type Captain's yacht smoothly glided amongst the various dry docks of Utopia Planitia shipyards. In each one filled, there seemed to be a flurry of activity. Starships being repaired or under construction. However, as the Captain's yacht flew in the exclusive company of Workbee maintenance and construction pods, the craft floated towards the section of the yard where Starships had been deemed to have outlived their usefulness and condemned to the cutter's torch.

Indeed, the Captain's yacht flying towards these doomed starships itself bore scarring from the vessel to which it had been attached, which lay in this section…

The evening sun bathed the vineyards of Chateau Clostermann in a golden light. Light that shone through the windows of the ancestral home of the Clostermann family. For generations, the Clostermann family had called the sprawling estate home, continuing the tradition of winemaking in Normandy, France.

In the light of the golden hour, the whir of a transporter beam deposited onto the drive a young man in a Starfleet Cadet uniform. His single pip indicative of his Freshman grade. Dusting off his shoulders and running a hand through his hair, the young man stepped up towards the front doors of…
